For 7 years we have been teaching a popular, basic soap making class. In the 2-hour class we make a batch of cold process soap from scratch, using 100% food-grade vegetable oils and lye. Participants get the soap that they make.
The class is taught in a very informal basis with a lot of participation and questions are encouraged. In addition to making a batch of soap, participants receive a handout and a list of "hints and tips". We cover ingredients, equipment, recipes, safety procedures, history of soap making, and more. Upon completion of the class participants should feel comfortable making soap on their own. We tell participants where they can buy the ingredients, and we also sell soap making ingredients at very reasonable prices.
We maintain a list of people interested in the class and when we have a small group we try to find a time that is convenient for everyone, usually Saturday afternoons, or early evenings during the week.
Advanced registration and payment is required to confirm the class schedule.

Normally our classes are taught in our shop in Delafield, though we have been contracted to teach it through several organizations.
